Oh, where to begin? First off, I loved The Old River Road, and secondly, it's one of my new favourite books.
Though the first few chapters were good, the story got even better, and soon, I was hooked. I wanted to know more about Clara, William, and the members of their family. It was a wonderful sort of story: the kind with no particular plot, but in a lovely way -- a way that bases your desire to continue reading on the lives of the characters rather than the story itself.
And the writing was excellent, too. Ivy did a great job of keeping the writing simple, yet she still allowed it to carry with a strong sense of elegance.
So it was amazing. Go read it... Now.
